Welcome to Tasting in Tongues
***This entry has been back-dated. Today is actually 11/8/08, and I'm posting my blog entries from a different blog from the last 6 months to this blog.***
Hi. My name is Paul Gagne and I run two sites - "Tasting in Tongues" and "Tasting in Tongues Maine".
Tasting in Tongues is for anyone interested in learning about meal planning. Even if you are "only" doing meal planning for one person, it can be very difficult to organize the planning, shopping, prepping, storage, and cooking. Meal planning for a whole family can be a full-time job. Here you will find blank menu templates, grocery lists, strategies, recipes and more.
The pursuit of eating local foods led me to create my newest site, Tasting in Tongues Maine. My objective for this site is to uncover sometimes difficult-to-find local sources. When I created the site, it was at the beginning of the summer, and I added the tag-line "Its easy to eat local - here's how!" Well, now its late fall, the farmers markets are closed, and I'm thinking that I need to change that tag-line. It is NOT easy to eat local. Sure, you will come across local items here and there, but if you're thinking of buying local for everything on your grocery list, it can be a challenge. Tasting in Tongues Maine, and this blog, is where I document my own search for local foods. As I locate sources for other Maine consumers I'll share my findings here.
This blog will serve both websites, so you will see a wide variety of content, including occasional off-topic ramblings. I hope you enjoy it. If you'd like to see something else let me know.
